SHADE ON DEMAND, headquartered in Bend, Oregon, serves customers in Central Oregon and elsewhere in Oregon. Our mission is to improve the livability and usability of indoor and outdoor spaces, in homes, restaurants, hotels, golf clubs, and yacht clubs, through the application of automated shading products which provide shade and shelter when desired – in other words, on demand.

Our products range from retractable patio covers and awnings to exterior solar screens and rolling shutters, all for the exterior. We also provide automated interior shading products, from roller shades and solar screens to roman shades, woven wood or grass shades, honeycomb shades, draperies, and other specialized window treatments. All of these products can be operated via remotes, keypads and switches, as well as by automation systems, timers, and sensors.

SHADE ON DEMAND is well-versed in the many types of window treatments that can be motorized and automated. Unlike some automation companies that dabble in shading, SHADE ON DEMAND is first a shading company and second an automation company. We recognize that a primary goal of shading is to enhance the beauty and comfort of your home, office or commercial establishment. Once the appropriate products are selected, based on the appearance and aesthetics desired, then we focus on the functionality provided through automation.

The founder of SHADE ON DEMAND is Dave Latimer, with over 25 years of experience in the high technology sector at Hewlett Packard and Spectra Physics, PSC Scanning, and Percon.  He has been a leader in automated shading systems since 2003.  He has attended extensive training programs offered by key suppliers, including Hunter Douglas, Electronic Solutions, Somfy, Lutron, Insolroll, MechoShade Systems, Eclipse Awning Systems, and Corradi USA.  Dave’s attention to detail ensures that each system is scoped and implemented to delight the customer.
